A Water Curtain System For Linear Spray Painting Suitable For Filtering PU, NC and PE Paints

There are two types of filtration systems for Linear Spray Painting, namely forced exhaust air and water curtain filtration. Different filtration systems are suitable for different paints. Oil-based paint is more suitable for filtration through a water curtain system.

Linear Spray Painting

Oil-based paint is also known as solvent-based paint. The paint mist is insoluble in water and is easily captured by water curtains. After being adsorbed by water curtains, the paint mist particles are suspended in water, forming paint residue. However, water-based paint will come into contact with water and dissolve in it, making it very difficult to filter out the paint residue.

 Linear Spray Painting

The working principle of the water curtain filtration system is through the top water tank.  Water flows over the board surface from top to bottom, forming a uniform and continuous water curtain fabric, which is the key interface for capturing paint mist.  The Linear Spray Painting is equipped with a circulating pump, which is responsible for lifting water to the top of the water curtain board to form a water curtain and recovering the treated water. In the water tank, a paint coagulant needs to be added.  It can make the paint mist captured by water lose its stickiness and condense into loose lumps that float on the water surface, making it easy to collect and remove.

The advantage of the Linear Spray Painting water curtain filtration system is that it has a very high removal efficiency for paint mist, usually reaching over 95%. The water system can effectively reduce the dust concentration and temperature inside the spray booth and has certain fireproof and explosion-proof performance. In summary, water curtain filtration is a classic, efficient and economical solution for paint mist treatment, especially suitable for large-scale production of solvent-based paints.
